# Lunlo 0.2.0 — upcoming account-enabled preview

Lunlo is a face-unlock convenience app for Apple silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later. The 0.2.0 account-enabled release is being prepared. The current website does not offer an installable public release or an active subscription while account setup is incomplete.

## Current availability

The development build is not Apple-notarized. Public release requires connected account and billing services, a release with account access checks, Developer ID signing, Apple notarization, and end-to-end validation. The earlier ungated 0.1.0 preview is not the 0.2.0 subscription release and is no longer offered by this website.

## Planned membership

When subscriptions open, eligible new subscribers can start a 3-day free trial with a payment card. After the trial, Lunlo automatically renews at $4.99 USD/month until canceled. Cancel through the account billing portal before the trial ends to avoid the first charge. Previously used trials do not restart. Review the checkout details before subscribing.

## How the upcoming app works

Sign in with a secure email link and verify your membership. Face unlock remains off until you explicitly enable it. On your Mac, enrollment and a saved Mac login password are kept in an encrypted local vault. macOS Keychain protects the vault's encryption key. A session must be authorized using Touch ID or your Mac password before password entry can be attempted.

Camera and Accessibility permission are required for the intended unlock flow. Input Monitoring enables the Space-key scan trigger; the hover control is an alternative. At the existing macOS lock screen, a matching face, liveness checks, an authorized local session, and a valid membership are required before the app can attempt to enter your saved password.

Never enter your Mac password on the Lunlo website or in a support message. Enrollment and Mac password setup belong inside the app on your own Mac.

## Limits to understand

Lunlo uses an ordinary RGB camera. It does not offer Apple's Face ID depth sensing and cannot reliably defeat video replay. It is a convenience feature, not a security upgrade. Your normal Mac password remains the fallback.

Lunlo does not unlock FileVault, the first login after a restart, a logged-out session, or a Mac where the app is not running. Recognition, lighting, camera hardware, Accessibility permissions, and lock-screen timing affect operation. An expired local authorization or unverified membership blocks password entry.

Local build and software checks are not proof of biometric security. Real face enrollment, spoof resistance, account-to-app entitlement, and lock-screen entry still require end-to-end testing before release. The preview is not independently security audited.

## Local data and accounts

Camera frames are processed in memory; face recognition runs locally. Face enrollment and the saved Mac password stay in the local encrypted vault. Account email and authentication sessions use the shared SignPulsar Supabase authentication system. The membership service associates your account with Stripe billing identifiers and subscription state. Stripe hosts payment entry and subscription management.

The browser stores its Lunlo sign-in session locally so sign-in can persist. The native app stores its own authentication session in macOS Keychain. Removing the app alone does not remove existing application-support data; remove enrollment and saved password in app settings before uninstalling when that flow is available.

## Source and attribution

Lunlo builds on the MIT-licensed Glance application. The recognition model is AuraFace under Apache-2.0; original InsightFace recognition weights are not included in the Lunlo build. An updated source bundle will accompany the account-enabled release. See `THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt` for app and model attribution.
